Q355GNH steel is a high weathering structural steel, a low alloy steel series between ordinary steel and stainless steel. Its atmospheric corrosion resistance is improved by adding corrosion resistant elements such as copper, nickel, and chromium. Its naming follows the national standard GB/T 4171-2008, where "Q" stands for yield strength and "355" stands for the lower limit of yield strength (355 MPa).
Q355GNH high weathering steel has the characteristics of high strength, corrosion resistance, easy processing, toughness, plasticity and ductility, easy forming, easy welding and cutting, high temperature resistance, fatigue resistance, etc. It is widely used in heavy-loaded structures exposed to the atmospheric environment for a long time, such as bridges, vehicles, towers, marine engineering, etc.
According to the standard, high weathering steel is divided into four grades: Q295GNH, Q355GNH, Q265GNH, and Q310GNH; welding weathering steel is divided into seven grades: Q235NH, Q295NH, Q355NH, Q415NH, Q460NH, Q500NH, and Q550NH according to the standard.
